I have a '98 V-6 automatic with only 106,000 miles on it..., that must be worth bunches up in the Seattle area!

A few years ago I was thinking about getting rid of my 99 limited w elocker that had 82,000 miles to get a Tacoma. I posted it for $10,000 BUT I said trade only for a Tacoma. I still had people blowing up my phone offering more then asking price. There’s this one dealer in Portland that seems to dominate the 4runner market located in Jantzen Beach. We talked for a bit and he even told me that if he was to buy my 4runner, he would lift it and ask over $15k.
I’m glad I never sold or traded my 4runner and probably won’t for a long time. Even though a Tacoma would be nice, I really don’t need a truck that much.

M&M Investment Cars? I cringe every time I see one of their ads where they took a perfectly good stock 4Runner and slapped a lift and a bunch of racks and lights on it.

Albertan here, I just picked up my 97 limited with around 220k miles for 3000 CAD. Originally a Cali runner until 2011 so only a small amount of frame rust. No body rust whatsoever
Took me a long time to find this deal, but they are out there if you are stalking the local classifieds. Runners with this mileage in my area usually go for around 5500-8k CAD, but usually suffer pretty badly from rust.

How are used prices in your area?

I agree! I wasn’t surprised when he told me that. They advertise center locking diff like it’s a rear elocker.

High here in Denver, my 2002 3rd Gen with 200k will go for 7k to 9k depending on condition.

Sounds like a good deal for Alberta. I watch the listings there and the mileage is usually nuts along with the price. And generally no rear bumper left.
Took me over 2 years to find mine and that was 8 years ago. I’d say it’s worth double what I paid now.

Just bought my 2001 3rd gen with about 140k miles less than a year ago for $4800 up here in the PWN. Always wished I could've gotten the sport edition but seeing how the prices are now, I could just buy the hood and flares and still be under the $10K+ asking price of a sport.

There are LOADS of them for sale down here - anywhere from $2500 to $12k.
All of them have over 200K miles, and all of them need work. The dry air eats up the suspension bushings, and the heat stresses the cooling system.

I use the Fuelly app and log every time I fill up with gas - date, mileage, gallons, cost. I also add a log entry for every service I do along with date, mileage and any notes (what type of air filter, oil, etc).
It’s super handy because I have a running log of how quickly I’m putting on mileage, how much mileage I have on my tires, how much diff fluid I’m losing every 3k miles when I fill it up - stuff like that.

New to the channel. I have this friend from work he’s selling his 1999 toyota 4runner limited 4wd 129000mils new tires everything works. He’s asking $2800 but the problem is that it has the symtom of not passing over 3000 rpms. I’m been reading a lot about the problem. I took it to toyota dealerships for diagnostic, bad cat $3000 almost $4000 😢. Took the car home removed cat and 2 o2 sensors up and down strim is doing the same. New tps same problem. Clean throttlebody No changes at all. Maf sensor clean. Coil pack, cables and spark plugs good. No check engine light no codes. Timing belt water pump done at 90k. I don’t know what to do should I risked and buy it from him or back out. In my research it can be several things.

Cats plug from too much fuel. My guess is your fuel pressure regulator is bad. Or your injectors are injecting too much fuel from faulty engine information.
