Anyone ever used or thought about using or building a boating seat mount style system... thoughts? objections?

I like the way you think lmao
How can I see more pictures of your build? What direction are you going? I keep telling myself to not build a camping/longtravel 4runner and last few minutes I saw pictures of your windows welded closed and fender wells cut out.... makin me jealous and want to get in on the fun.

How much would that help when the front of the rails rest on the floor already? Where would you gain any movement? Maybe if you're a "little person", but my head is rubbing against the roof already ~ or you cut out the floorpan, move the stuff that's under there (not sure Exactly what's directly beneath the drivers seat, fuel tank maybe), then build it all back up again.

As someone that's 6' tall and my head already hits the sunroof frame, I also wonder where the hell you'd fit that.

Look into these companies that make suspension seats for off-road racing.
Seats - Suspension - Corbeau USA
Beard Seats
If you really want to spend some money, Bose (speaker company) makes one too..

I've been waiting on parts, with everything going on, major components have been taking a while. But with that said i'm currently only waiting to get my engine back from the machine shop, opened the engine up to inspect and there was a lot of oil build up and the exhaust valve sits where heavily pitted, so I decided to do a complete refresh of said.

Not only will you have head room issues with those seat bases but since the seat belt is attached to the vehicle body and doesnt move, the seat belt will want to cut you in half as the seat cycles up and down.
If your truck is riding so rough that you think you need a seat like this, your truck needs better suspension first

Head room issues r easily alleviated by building somethings lower sitting, excellent point about the seat belt and something that needs to be accounted for (Don't think it would be to difficulty to address), my suspension is better them most vehicles on (but always room to improve) here but my back is not...

You must have a serious rig to have to use a suspension seat.
Really, if you want a comfy ride, air down some. Quality suspension really help the whoops as well, assuming you have a built vehicle...

So you're what, going to cut seat foam out to get it lower? Do away with seat rails so it's in a fixed position? Those are the only 2 viable options for "building something lower sitting" and you'll gain at MOST 4 inches (if you fixed-mount and shave seat foam to 1").
There's nothing else to give.
There are some amazing engineers out there, doing stuff that people wouldn't think possible. If you're that person, please, prove us wrong and show us how you've done it. I'm willing to bet that no matter the cost, there will be a few dozen people in line to give you money to do the same for them.

Didn't the BJ70 come with suspension seats. How about a factory Mitsubishi Pajaro, Montero, Dodge raider suspension seat, not sure if gen1 1991 or gen2 1999 would fit, and then you need to find a RHD Pajaro to get the passenger side suspension seat, here is a diagram of the LHD Mitsu Montero Passenger and driver seat, note just the driver seat is a suspension seat if chosen as an option, Montero would be common this side of the world.
