Supposedly new Toyota CV Axles, anyone tried them?
So my front right CV finally gave up the ghost, spitting grease all over and making noise, woo.... So it's time to get some replacements.
I called my local dealerships to see if they had the remans in stock, they did not but one of them had these "brand new" CV's that toyota supposedly just introduced. Has anyone tried these or heard of them? He gave me part number 00016-AX134 but I can't find anything about these. Did say they were $160 a piece, no core charge stuff. This is more than the remans... But if they're new japanese ones then I'd be down for that.
And just to make sure I'm not looking at the wrong stuff, the reman part number is 43430-35030-84 right?

i typed in your "new" number and nothing came up..i only was able to get the reman part # to come up at $134
maybe the "new" is still too new to show up on my search, but I too would spend 160 for a "new toyota"

Alright I found a dealer that has two in stock, going to drive up there shortly to check them out. I'll take pictures so we can document them here

I was lazy and had my shop install what I thought would be an OEM Reman about a month ago but the shaft is sheathed in a silver Toyota sticker. Is that the new normal look? Last one I did was bare metal.

The remans I bought a couple years ago had those silver stickers (poorly) applied around the axle, and came in a box labeled "remanufactured."

Alright... So the new one isn't really a Toyota one as far as I could tell. It was just some other brand with a little toyota sticker slapped on the box. They were from China.
I did look at CVJ as well... But it just seemed silly to pay 200 for what's basically an oem reman. I also read here where some people had mixed results... So meh.
I've no idea where remains come from but I decided to just order remains from McGeorge Toyota as they've been my parts source of choice for a while now.
I also ordered the seals, dust covers, and the crush washers

Wait a minuite...Toyota stealership reboxing Chicom parts and slapping toyota stickers on them? That's all sorts of wrong!
I expect that kind of practice on eBay and Amazon and not a toyota dealer. Man, cant even trust a dealer putting oem parts on at an oem dealership.

They claimed the cv's were toyota...so...maybe toyota authorized it? I am not sure.

following! Mine are gonna need replaced sooner or later, and it might be smart having a couple on hand in case one ever blows. Even though everyone assures it's fine and not many seem to get any problems, but I feel once my wheels droop the angle becomes very severe for them now that a lift is installed
Man, everyday I regret not shooting for a solid axle swap
