Options for 17" Spare Rim that Clears 231mm TBU

Alright I have done some searching around, but can't seem to find some clear information. Figured I would see what help was out there.

I changed out my wheels to FN Wheels Konig Countersteer Type X which are a 17"x8" -10mm offset. With the change I also put on some new BFG KO2 A/T in 255/75r17.

I have neglected getting a matching spare as I have been working from home due to Covid and haven't been on any trips.

I am looking for a 17" wheel that I can put the same size tire on for a spare, but also want this to clear the 231mm TBU in the front. The last thing I want to have to worry about is moving around 2 tires in the middle of nowhere, just to get me back home.

Anyone know what wheels are out there that you would suggest for something like this? The wheel doesn't have to be fancy and can be a factory spare if it fits.

Any 17” aluminum Toyota wheel off a newer 4Runner or Tacoma should work just fine. The factory steel spare wheels might be the only exception since the steelies don’t have the same clearance in the space that the caliper occupies as the aluminum wheels do.

I have the 5th gen snowflake wheels and they clear the 231mm Tundra calipers I’m running. I have the stock 16 steel spare under the truck and I’ll probably have to swap wheels and put the spare on the back axle if a front wheel gets a flat. I also have Spidertrax spacers, so perhaps the steelie will fit the front after all. I haven’t tried it yet.

Thanks Dezert4Runner. I was hoping that one of the steelies might work, but that makes sense. I have also been looking at some of the other steel options from pro comp, just trying to find something cheap that will work.

4th Gen rims work just fine; just find an extra for a spare.

It’s not a ‘steelie’; but I managed to get 2 sets; 4+1 for the truck; leaving 3 left for my trailer I’m building.

Steelie from a 1st-gen Tundra or Sequoia...they'll obviously clear the calipers, why would Toyota furnish a spare that won't clear the brakes LOL

Thanks guys. Yeah my original thought was to find a steelie wheel from a 1st gen Tundra, but I can't seem to find where they came with a factory 17" steelie. Would like to stick with the same 17" size, just as I am OCD. Anybody know a year/trim pattern of Tundra that would have come from the factory with a 17" wheels that weren't an aftermarket/upgrade? Looking around for a 17" from a 4th gen to see if I can find something locally, but keeping options open.

I use a 16" Tundra aluminum wheel under mine (265/70-17 on the main wheels, 265/75-16 on the spare). Any 6-lug Tundra wheels should work...
