I just replaced my tps as well actually cause I got a p0120 code on the last camping trip I went on.. Just went on a test drive, I used to have a slight hesitation/felt like it was going to stall occasionally after coming out of a stop but now it seems like it’s gone. Hoping it stays that way.. Curious to see if it fixes your problem.

The tps has a vacuum port?

TPS does not have a vacuum port, pre 01 TB's had port on cable side of TB, look closely at pic Tim posted shows port labled vacuum with arrow.

Could be a bad fuel injector, bad spark plugs, bad coil. What cylinder? Swap the coil on the bad cylinder and see if the issue migrates to test the coils.

My 2005 SR5 with 150,000 miles has never had a miss or CEL. No offroading.
My evaporator coil just failed. Second time. The first time was in 2009 when the dealer replaced one. I paid $800 for that job. You have to take down the dash to get to the evaporator. Big job. labor-intensive.

My 01 has had a quirk for a bit that I think is TPS related, dead/hesitation spot, leaving stop at 2-3 shift point speed.
Been waiting to see if code would set, going by posted you don't always get a code. Hhmm, wonder what set's the code.

@gamefreakgc , good thinkin with Vac. On the bright side not a problem finding 3 wire TPS not so with 4-wire year ago 1 place had them, guess it time to put it on.

This is exactly what I had pretty much and as far as I can tell on my little test drive yesterday it seemed like it was gone. Just replaced the tps.

Mine doesn't act up every time I drive it or very often.

Neither did mine, it was only every once and a while.

Fixing the hoses and adding the fuel stabilizers helped but still idling low. 550 or lower sometimes when coming to a stop (feels like it's about to stall) and 675 in park. New TPS is still on order.

New TPS is in and runs even better, pretty much back to normal. I think in time the idle speed will level out even more.

So to recap, the #1 offender was indeed the TPS however it wasn't the sole cause. I confirmed it was failing slowly with the resistance test but I noticed in one of my dyno logs a few months ago the throttle position on my AEC said the throttle was at 103%. This should have been a red flag since it can't open more than 100%. I calibrated it about 3 years ago so since then the TPS voltage has degraded over time.

Replacing the IAC valve also helped the idle speed though it still threatened to stall a few times, though not as bad as before.

For extra measure, I did adjust the throttle stop screw. It's behind the spring on the bottom on the front facing side of the throttle body. I did one complete turn. For reference, there was 7 threads showing on the paint side so I turned it once to 6 threads.

EDIT: So don't mess with the throttle stop screw LOL. Idled at like 2000 RPMs! I put it back to where it was before and it's better now.
