Thanks! I get it. It's like a OEM EGT gauge. I will see where is the sensor is located on the diagram.

I usually don't exchange the odo. I just take out the dash plate and cut the icon that I need and install it into my cluster.

So far that's what it looks like.

So far that's what it looks like. The only new light not in the photo is the washer level warning light that is between the rear diff lock light and front fog light.

It is diesel originally. This is what it used to look like before all the stock additions I did awhile back.

The Hilux Surfs around here have many more features than the US 4Runners and Im trying to add them all on mine.

But sometimes, there is text that I can translate myself to understand what it is for, and resort to calling for help here.

Thanks again!

THanks again for the translated texts.

Here is what I found about this feature.

The Icon is for gasoline engine only. It is available on cars with the 3RZ and 5VZ engines. (weird why not diesels) It is available on the Surfs and Prado 90/95 (96-02) or something like that.

The sensors are located on the downpipe on the exhaust as it seems, after the cat.

Part numbers are 89425-80032 и 89425-80034. The 80032 is only mounted on Hilux Surfs with manual transmission. and the 34 is mounted on surfs with the big gasoline engine and both manual and automatic vzj90/95s prados.

On the electrical schematics, the icon and sensor are listed for exhaust gas temps.

Anyway that's further research for now.

The stock EGT sensors are switches, not continuous thermocouple sensors. Not very useful, other than as an idiot light...
