What tube is this: rear differential

I just replaced my rear shocks and springs. While doing that work I seemingly bumped what looks like some kind of “breather tube” which I wasn’t sure if it came loose or is supposed to be just like this : not connected to anything. I can’t tell if it need to be reconnected.

Does anyone know for sure if this is supposed to connect to something?

Could also be the sunroof drain hose, I don't have a sunroof so don't know where they all go. There's 4. Easy way to find that one out though, just dump water on the sunroof.

Looks pretty aftermarket to me, as does the red one in the background. My money is on airbags either in currently or were in at one time.

Possibly an aftermarket rear diff breather set up if the PO was a keener.

Looks like the rear diff locker breather hose. Supposed to be slid in between the body floor brace and the body floor and held in by a little metal clip.

If you look at the body floor above the locker you should see the clip on the floor brace in one of the floor channels.

The hose will slide right back into place.

Dump water is great idea for finding the rear tubes....
Sunroof drain tubes= front two can be found in cavities behind the front kick panels and drain into the sills, rear two- left drains out the vent and right tube passes through a grommet in the body- both can be found behind the rear cargo panels and farther back from but near the wheel wells. They are approx 3/4" (but think metric) or so and clear plastic.

Just looked on my rig and the clip is just outboard of the fuel filler hose. Kind of hidden by the filler hose metal section.

I’m under there installing 10” Firestone air bags into my 890’s. Fun stuff.

Well I just fed the tube through this bracket holding the fuel tube.

At least it’s not dangling around now.
