Evergreen Pearl single or two stage?

Hey peeps,

I am a victim of clear coat failure, cracking in the paint, and deep scratches from the previous owner.

Is Evergreen Pear a single-stage paint or two-stage?

You answered it yourself. It has a clearcoat so it is a two stage paint.

My corolla is Toyota Super Red 2 (love that name) and that is a single stage with no clearcoat.

It sucks that the clear fades and delaminates as it does. Really makes a good vehicle look shabby.

Welp haha. Also, that's pretty dope name.

I'm deciding on painting my 4Runner, but not sure if I should go with a single-stage or two-stage. I need to take it but MAACO and get an estimate.

If I were to take it in, do they take care of the edges of doors/hood and door handles too? I'm clueless about getting a paint job done on a car. Would I need to remove anything such as bumpers or fenders too?

I just went through this and with the same color and for the same reason, and yes Maaco was one of my stops. They have come a long way from their less than stellar jobs of the past and have multiple packages available IIRC for whole vehicle paint.

In the end, I chose not to go with them as paint work is something Im super picky about and my gut was right about their quality after seeing a few examples, they tape they dont R&R to keep "costs down" for customer. In the end, their prices were also not that much cheaper considering the quality vs a higher end shop so I ended going with another shop.

To answer your question the areas you mentioned were covered in my work as I specified it in the scope of the work order. Also, if your thinking 2stg vs single stage paint I'd stick with 2 stage the clear is important as long as you maintain it moving forward. Also, if your thinking of a color change to save $$ using a single stage paint that creates some crazy costs for a repaint think door jambs and hatch and engine bay.
