Questions about my newly aquired 4runner

i just bought a 2002 4runner SR5 from the US and had it shipped to the carribean island of Turks & caicos. A couple of things i would like to know about it now that i have it:

1. Is it normal for the head lamps to turn on when started and running? if so is there a way to turn it off?

2. It has a few scrathes... nothing major but i like to keep it looking good so i would like to get touch up paint. it is gold ish.... but i would like to find the color code to properly match it. where do i find it?

let me know if you guys can help.

1. Yes it is called DRL or Daytime Running Lights. They can be disabled use the search feature there are a few threads out there.

2. Look on the driver side door jamb, you should see the color code of the vehicle on the white label.

that's it!

I've done this mod to mine and have not looked back since. I do not plan on ever running DRLs again, so I just snipped the correct wire and went on my way. I did not install the switch to toggle between DRLs and no DRLs.

When on, the transmission lets the engine rev higher before shifting to the next gear when under heavy accelleration or load. Higher revs = more power.

If you do not have the little shifter for high/low range to the left of the main shifter then its 2wd.

Yes there is. I'll let you do some of the work, though.

It's in here somewhere...
