Factory trim or not?

Is the trim on the doors in this pic a factory thing and if so will I find holes behind it where it clips in?

I've never seen that particular trim before. Looks like the adhesive backed kind to me.

it's exactly the same trim that is on my 98 and it's in the Toyota catalog. I love it.

Factory trim or not?

pretty sure this is it

MOULDING | 4RUNNER VZN185L-GKPGKA RZN18#,VZN18# | JT3HN86RXW0173191 | Toyota | Genuine Parts Catalogs | PartSouq Auto Parts Around the World

and maybe to answer your question... there are just some 10 mm lag type bolts that go into the inner fender well plastic clips. the clips hold in the inner liner. the hole in the center of the clips is used to hold the trim on. as long as they are not rusted to nuggets it's super easy to get them off.

The trim on the doors is 100% double sided tape, no holes. Mine has it too.

I think @sleepydad is referring to the wheel arch trim which has screws in the fender liner but no holes in the outside of the fender.

if youre intending to use the doors/fenders that the trim is attached to just be very careful taking it off. I had the same type of dealer installed adhesive-backed trim. I removed it after it had been there for 16 years and the clear coat came with it...

OMG yes I did not read the "door" part I was thinking you were asking about the wheel arch.

and yes that is strange I have never seen that door trim? it must add @ least +5hp so taking it off would be bad?

heat gun and some luck!

Really 5hp? I was guessing 3hp and had no reservation about removing it. 5hp is a game changer. Like my second wife.
