Maybe the tire was rusted to the rim. I think that is possible on a Toyota truck.

I was looking for those cheap manual tire changers for a while, and I remember they were made for smaller car tires generally. Think corolla

100% agree... I dug out an old front hub and tomorrow I will fire up the welder and beef things up. it needs way more bacon.

harbor freight stuff is like made from recycled beer cans. I think I will beef up the plate so I can use actual nuts/bolts. having the beer can hold down just seems like a bad idea anyways.

car tools made from old cutup car parts are better anyways right?

after a lot of fooling around with $
I can mount and dismount Toyota wheels.... but let me tell you me! the $ you pay to have somebody else do it... totally worth it.

my latest adventure....

broke the heavy duty harbor freight tire iron part from the manual tire changer...
well that did not go so well

this stuff right here is the bomb

also with out a duck bill attachment to the manual tire changer... heavy duty load range E tires no freaking way... this thing saves the day.

it's too bad somebody does not sell a mid range manual tire changer in the 400$-500$ range because I would have purchased it... the harbor freight manual tire changer is only for light duty stuff but that is no surprise really and I'm in the process of slowly breaking each piece and part of it.... and replacing those broken parts with beef and bacon.

Yes you better off to wait to garage has an auction or one is upgrading and buy their old one. No way would I try to do an auto tire by hand. heck I wont even do a motorcycle or 4 wheeler tire. Only bicycles by hand. ;)

Way too lightly built. If you have a welder, make your own with a piece of .188” or .250” wall tube or sch. 40 pipe. Save the tabs or make new ones. Likewise for the other bent piece

I gave up this morning on a 17" wheel.... I'm going to unload what I got in tire tools on ebay and go back to brining them to tires+ or my local family owned tire shop.

it's really impossible to change heavy duty truck tires by hand. unless your the man of steel. I'm actually the man of jello so no hope for me.
