Unless your charcoal canister is malfunctioning I see zero reason to, it only helps you and does nothing to hurt performance. Messing with EVAP unnecessarily is always a can of worms

Especially since that is what (should) auto adjust the rear shoes.

Thanks for the response. I don't necessarily understand what is happening in the mysterious black box - I just needed some assurance from others more knowledgeable on the subject to point me in the right direction. 👍

I've been making decent progress over the past few weeks. Aside for the passenger Lower Control Arm, I have removed everything from the transfer case back (I will get a picture soon).

The LCA is stuck because the cam alignment tabs are stuck/dry rotted into the bushings. I'll need to hit it with my purse more, or sawzall them out and replace with the 333 fab Alignment Cam Eliminator Plates. Between that and removing the old bushings (might just melt those out lol), those are the only old items left to delete.

I will need to run new brake line to the driver rear wheel. That line was rusted where it meets the rubber hose.

We had to bust out the torch to remove the front coilovers, the threads were too rotted and broke the other end of the bolt lose inside so it just turned with no way of holding it.

Anyway, now it is just a TON of cleaning i.e. laying on my back on gravel while grease, rust, and cleaner soak me. I have wire wheeled/air needled the entire axle, frame, and crossmembers clear of any large rust flakes. Now, I am degreasing everything and scrubbing it all with a scouring pad - things actually are looking really nice and its keeping me motivated.

Here are a few pictures... more will be coming soon - thanks for tuning in.

I posted my donor truck on Marketplace for $1200. Some dude showed up and wanted it to try and body swap a 1995 4runner... good luck...? I'm sure it will end up as a part-out.

I broke the ABS Sensor trying to remove it. Will probly just secure it back on with the 10mm bolt and send. Also, upon removing the axle shafts and inspecting the e-brake assembly, it's toast. I'm removing them and RTV'ing the opening to keep out debris. The cable will probly just be zip-tied across the top of the frame crossmembers until I think of a different solution.

The EimKieth Lower Link Mount Reinforcements are welded on and clearly add plenty of beef. My welds were uuuuugly, but I needed the practice - they'll hold just fine.

Most will recommend just cutting out the alignment cams if you're replacing them anyways. No need to make things harder

I think I might be a day late and a dollar short; but for my swap, I traced the clutch master mount on the firewall to transfer it over.

You are, but its good info for other people viewing the thread. Cutting those holes definitely could have gone more smooth. Thanks for the picture.

When I cut mine on my 97 limited it was even worse than what y'all are dealing with.

A previous owner had run wiring for an amp but for some reason drilled an almost 1" hole for it. It was right where i needed the CMC to mount and offset.

Luckily I was able to cut it out but not the way you would think.

I used the gasket to trace best I could and then used a very small drill bit to drill the outline- something like 15 holes around the edge of the hole. Then just got progressively larger drill bit until the holes overlapped.

Hey did you ever get the reverse lights and cruise control wired up?

Unfortunately, no. It's on the spring tune-up list among other things. I'll have to look up the thread where that is explained again. It has been sitting all winter in my condo parking lot.

I drove her hard last summer at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. It performs incredibly well over the bumps, but obviously can't take woops like a LT truck. Really surprised it held up so well after the shakedown, just needed a good bolt check. Drove it an hour there, 2 days in the dunes, then drove it home.

Ah I see, lol mine has been sitting all winter in my condo lot too. Haven't had much time to take it out to trails this year, hopefully later in the summer. Please keep us updated if you do figure out the wiring for those two!
