Well the factory fog fuse is 15A, so you can safely run aftermarket fogs up to that amperage. Past that, you can use the fog light switch/circuit to trigger a relay which can then supply whatever amperage your fogs need.

Given your situation, I don't see the point of spending $200 on factory fogs now if you are going to go with an aftermarket bumper in the future.

I have a set of halo foglights that I first had in a minivan, then transferred to underneath the valence in the 4Runner, and now have on my AOR bumper. Very nice foglights:

Thanks! I used these - Amazon.com: HELLA 008284801 FF75 Series Clear 12V/55W H7 Halogen Fog Lamp Kit: Automotive

I then upgraded them to HID bulbs.

Technology has definitely improved in the last few years since I got these, I'd look into LED options to see what's out there.

That's where the rare factory front/rear locker switches go:

(heh, totally kidding )

I'm running some Rigid D-series 3" cube lights in my 4XI bumper. They even had a plug compatible with my stock foglight wiring... other than the polarity being wrong. LED's only work with the current going the right direction. Had to cut and splice the wires. But no added wiring, still works normally via the stock stalk fog light switch. They put out lots of light, probably draw less amperage than the stock foglights did.
