Yet another gen 3.5 issue lol. I can't fathom why certain changes are made before actual generation changes. Us 01-02 owners feel like red headed step children sometimes, watching videos or manuals then going "wait...mines different" lol

This might not help in your case, but check the bell crank adjustment screw, and make sure it's on the right spec. I adjusted mine to be .020 inches - which is good. The drum fits, and comes off with no problem (with good drag as well).
