Passenger side motor mount removal

What is this and can I take it off to help get some room to remove motor mount? I assume the bolt above it holds it in place?

Edit: that is a block coolant drain petcock type thing the bolt above it open the port.

Why are you removing the motor mount bracket off the block? You can remove just the motor mounts with the right tools. For that 17mm nut that bolts the motor mount to the motor mount bracket, a 120 click point 3/8" ratchet is super helpful and basically makes it possible to get out.

Ah, I see. If those are poly bushings in those mounts, you're going to get crazy vibrations and noise into your cab. I have Trail Gear poly mounts for the the 22RE engine in my 85 4runner and it's louder than shit and sends engine vibrations into the frame rails. You might quickly learn this was a big mistake unless you plan on cranking your stereo everywhere you go.

Got it, pry bar and some choice words, driver side I’ll try to take it apart at the 17mm bolt first

No radio, minimal interior and I play in the desert with my rig, whoops and occasional jumping. It’s not a daily driver so not terrible worried about noise or vibration but I’m sure it will be more noticeable.

Passenger side motor mount removal

@ I watched your video and ended up ordering the 120 click gear wrench ratchet you used and I’m going to attempt to change the driver side out this coming week starting with removing the 17mm nut and frame side mount.

You'll love the ratchet. I own them in all sizes. Total game changer.

do you have a link to those mounts? solid-offroad.com doesn't bring up anything for me.

Search Instagram for them. I’m not sure if he had a website.

I can get it in the hole and on the nut but my motor mount flexes to much to ratchet. I need to get my dad or another hand next weekend to help me.

I dunno how to post a video but the reason everything flexes so much is my actual motor mount was broke at the block. Fun stuff

Passenger side motor mount removal

Bottom ears on the stock motor side of the mount were broken off, wonder when that happened...? Or wonder how long it’s been broken haha.

Well something isn’t right... driver side doesn’t line up even close at the perch. Not sure what’s bent or tweaked but next thing to try to do is loosen passenger side and put the driver side on first

You might try loosening the trans mount as well
