Random extra bolt on engine block

Reassembed my engine after a HG/Timing job. This random bolt on the passenger side just above the exhaust manifold is left. When I removed stuff I typically install bolts back in the holes. But...everything's connected and running fine so I don't know what this is.

this is on the 5VZFE

Nothing goes there,.. So I'd say maybe from the ATF upper dip tube support to engine?, looks about right length and size, plus you might not notice it in its actual location if I'm right, and would make installing that head difficult.

the ATF dip tube is about 4 inches left of that bolt and it's hooked up already. All my ground straps are hooked up and everything. what the heck?

Ya that's why I was thinking dip tube bolt, as that new Head wouldn't go on with the bolt left in place and the dip tube hanging there, dunno man, nothing goes in that location in the USDM 5vz-Fe. Only other hardware like that would be PS ALT AC stay bolts and the intake to mounting brackets, and fender to mounting brackets, keep looking, unless you have extra hardware you stole from inventory..

Nothing goes there. The cylinder heads are identical did you switch them around? On the other side there's a bunch of items that bolt on that side such as the alternator drip shield.

No the shop had them kept together with camshafts and everything so they couldn't be swapped. I have no brackets left either nor other screws. I'll re-vist my steps and the breakdown and see how the part count goes.

OK I took more pics. I also rewound my steps and couldn't find where it came from. It's 12mm and it doesn't have the self tapping starter like the frame bolts. I had everything in baggies labeled from where they came. This must have been on the passenger side head baggie with the camshaft bolt, ground bolt and nut from the rear of the head, etc. So i threaded it in when I put the head back thinking i would come back to it. And in the instance of me mislabeling it in the wrong baggie, there's no bracket missing from the driver side either. I marked with yellow and red circles where grounds straps, intake stay bolts, fuel line bolts, etc go and they're all there.

Do you have anything left over. Like a little tab with a square hole to anchor a wiring harness?

Not that I am noticing. The main "attachments" that I recall are the tranny dipstick and ground strap on the back of the head on the passenger side, then the ground strap, diagnostic plug, manifold stay, and fuel line on the driver side.

If the heads are identical and the other side has some attachments then it would make sense that this side has the same bolts with nothing attached. Also it might be worth a quick trip to a junkyard to look at a similar engine

On the passenger side it’s an empty hole on my engine.

I had a U-Shaped metal shim left over once from doing a HG repair on a 95 Sonoma. Had no clue where it went, put it on the bench and went for a test drive, would up being a connecter piece for fuel lines

I think I remember taking those bolts off during a valve cover job.
