96 SR5 Blend door mechanism help
No motor actuator (that I know of), so not finding anything pertaining to what I'm having a problem with.
The problem, can't switch from face/floor to defrost.
The reason? The cam/groove mechanism gets "stuck".
I'll to describe what is happening the best that I can. This is on the left side, down by the feet. The cable coming down is for changing the blend door (feet/face/defrost). The horizontal groove it slides fine, but when I go to slide it to defrost is where the groove transitions to vertical and pops out. It's a tight spot, so seeing what is going on is a problem. There is an additional white cam mechanism above this one that also is attached, but I can't tell what is going on there.
The cable moves freely. Need help. Any ideas on a fix? I'm able to move the lever by hand and then pop it back together when it's set to defrost. Going into the chilly season, would like to have a more permanent fix. Zip tying it together is currently the leading "fix".
Thanks ahead
