Really enjoying these. Making the thought of doing my valve covers in the spring feel much less daunting. Now if I just had a garage to work in...

is there performance in yota 1

I am pulling the trigger soon on a replacement motor for my 98. For the Yota 1 I have read a lot about in on their website and as much as I could online but the one thing I haven't figured out is if it is a direct replacement or are their any modifications/performance enhancements to it? I am going to install the supercharger on it while I have it out of the car . Does the Yota 1 motor have more hp or torque than oem motor?

Great videos I've watched all 3 so far, going to watch again for notes soon!

This is a very good question. I'm pretty sure this is an engine rebuilt to stock specs but I'll call Nick who owns Yota1 Performance and let him know about your question and maybe he can make this more clear on his website. I'll get back to you on this soon.

I did talk to Nick at Yota1 Performance and his rebuilds are to OEM specs. There are no performance enhancements.

Yep, as you could see in the video, I was pretty damn happy. My dancing was a dance of relief after laboring on that job for 4 very full and tiring days.

excellent resource!

Tim,
I've watched all your videos over the years and have a great deal of respect for you and your partners who have put so much time and energy into providing videos and pictures to help the Toyota community in general. I think I have some idea of how much time this takes! A big thank you.

As our 4Runners age, its inevitable that more of us will have to travel down the road of an engine replacement. I indeed made this journey in 14'. I thought I might share a link to my job, a view of a layman getting it done...:

My Engine Swap in progress!

I definitely ran into a few snags but saw my way through. It's now been 6 yrs and 70k kms, and she's still humming. Totally worth it. If I ever have to do this again, I could probably do it in a third of the time.

Thanks again for all your efforts, for providing an invaluable resource!
