3rd gen seat upgrades
I've searched extensively but can't find too much. What seats (Toyota family) can directly bolt in to a 3rd gen ? I know the sr5seat is a great upgrade but finding those is not easy, I would imagine some Tacoma seats would bolt in or modification for Tundra seats etc. Any knowledge would greatly appreciated.

It depends on the brackets on the bottom of the seats. 2nd gen Tacoma seats will be a direct fit. Other than those seats i believe others need slight modification/bracket bending. I have a buddy with a set of Subaru seats in his 4runner that fit with slight modification to the front frame rail but bolt right in.

I bought this. Cut a piece for the seat and the back. Wide enough to fit inside the bolsters. Just on the flat parts.
Removed an excess piece of foam the factory put in the lumbar area...bliss. So comfy now.

I'd give an 02-06 camry xle seats a try, so comfy and more leg length support.

I've eyed up a set of late model Subaru Outback seats as a possible swap candidate for my rig, those stock seats kill my back after a few hours of driving.

I installed what I believe were the front seats out of an 05 Subaru Forester. Got them for $50 for the pair on Craiglist. Both are tan and match fairly close to the stock interior on my runner (using a molle cover on my drivers seat in the picture). If I remember right, the outside brackets fit without modifying, but I had to use the grinder, a little bending, and some bolts for the inside brackets (Mainly the inside front bracket). Well worth the time, and luckily the wiring for the seat heaters was really simple. For some reason the driver seat is power, but the passenger is manual, but that drivers power seat was simple to wire up too. The seatbelts off the subaru seats work with our stock belt receiver as well.

I was looking at replacement seats for a while and ended up going with Corbeau Moab seats (Color: Spice). I love them so far.

Broken down uncomfortable seats are my biggest gripe with these old Toyotas. I ended up installing Sparco fighter seats that I had laying around into my Tacoma, and they're good, but I'm considering swapping them for a set of PRP suspension seats.
Looking for something more OE for the 4Runner at the moment and limiting myself to something that comes in the same Oak colored leather we got (to match up to factory back seats and door panels). My list of possible candidates is the following:
95-00 LS400
99-04 Avalon
96-02 Camry XLE
96-01 ES300
97-02 GS300/400
So far I haven't been able to scoop up a good set from the local junkyards though, but I'm still looking.

3rd gen seat upgrades
Nissan tan leather is close enough for a cheap classified upgrade.
Found these for dirt cheap on craigslist, i think they are out of a murano? Electric driver and heat on both butts
