Price of just the pads is virtually the same.
Will call mfgr again to confirm which model has more stopping power / friction rating. Also to find out if rotors in the kits are different somehow.

Z36 Truck/Tow = Carbon Fiber-Ceramic. $41 on amzn.
"... that features a coefficient of friction 17% higher than OE pads."

Z23 Sport = Carbon Fiber-Ceramic. $42 on amzn.
"... formula for superior braking power."
I called Power Stop. They said the Z23 and Z36 are essentially the same (but not identical) pad material, both ceramic compound.

The Z36 (truck and tow) are for high heat and have different shims (steel for high heat dissipation) so they are heavy loads, frequent heavy braking, or oversize wheels. In general they are considered a grippier setup.

The Z23 (performance/sport) have coated shims that are quieter and still a premium ceramic pad compound for noticeable OEM+ stopping power.

Me... going with Z23... just want/need OEM+ performance.

Let us know how you like em. Thinking back I think a big reason I chose the Z36 is cause I'm running extra weight (front bumper+sand bags) which is what many advise. Either way I'm sure the difference between the two isn't terrible

I ran the Z23 pads with Powerstop drill and slotted rotors. Terrible bite. Maybe I got a bad set? No idea, but the rotors warped after 15k or so. Powerstop is pretty low on my list since that experience. EBC greenstuff 6000 is what I run now, but I would recommend spending a few extra bucks on the 7000 to get less dust.
