Badd Vibration in the front end
Let me start off with saying I have tried the search option, no success. Secondly I have had my lift in for over 4 years, learned that question from the search feature.
I had noticed a clicking from my front end. I found that 1 cv shaft was toast and the other had both boots ripped. So I swapped them both out for new, not OEM, I know but it was all I could afford.
Since then things seemed fine for about 6 months. Now when I make sharper right hand turns I hear and feel a bad vibration. Also when I put it in 4wd the vibration intensifies and pulls to one side.
I jacked up the front end and spun the front tires to troubleshoot. I checked LBJs, TREs and wheel bearings. All good. I did notice that the wheel would spin free to one spot then need extra effort to move anymore. I looked to where the CV goes in to the axle tube on the passenger side of the front diff and saw it not spinning true, when the wheel would get stuck the CV would move in a oval shape in the diff. This makes the diff flex the bushings. I talked to a couple non Toyota mechanics and they said the front diff bearing sounded toast.
I had a spare front diff and swapped it in checked the CVs when they were out and didn't see or feel any issues. Well the problem is still there, so I am hoping that some of you T4R gurus have an idea for me to try out.
Thank you in advance!!
