Power Stop brakes; Z23 (premium/sport) VS. Z36 (truck & tow)
I called Power Stop about their upgrade brakes.
They said the Z23 and Z36 are essentially the same (but not identical) pad material, both have a upgrade ceramic carbon compound.
The Z36 (truck and tow) are for high heat and have different shims (steel for high heat dissipation) so they are heavy loads, frequent heavy braking, or oversize wheels. In general they are considered the grippier of the two pads.
The Z23 (performance/sport) have coated shims that are quieter and still a premium ceramic pad compound for noticeable OEM+ stopping power.
Me... going with Z23... just want/need OEM+ performance on my 2002 SR5 with 15" wheels.
((Just an FYI... might be last person to have learned this.))
