3rd gen after market seat install question

installed some nice after market in 2000 t4r, I see on the underside of the oem passengers side seat there is another lead from the seat belt wires / connector. I'm assuming these are the leads for a sensor mat. I'm guessing this isn't simply a normally open, single pole switch arrangement and I'll get away with twisting the two wire together... I'd basically like to wire it so that the srs always sees an occupant. I saw emulators on line Any help?

Depending on year, that sensor is either not there ('96-'98), only used for the seatbelt warning light ('99-'00) or integrated into the SRS system ('01-'02).

Since you have a 2000, just leave it unplugged. Your passenger airbag will work normally. The SRS system only uses two forward sensors and controls the two airbags and two front seatbelt pre-tensioners. It does not use seatbelt information or occupancy information.

If you short the sensor wires (it is simply a switch-type sensor), you will have the flashing seatbelt warning light on the dash unless the seatbelt is plugged in.
