Can't turn off BRAKE, VSC OFF, VSC TRAC, ABS lights, replaced module.
Hello, I recently fixed a few issues with my 2002 4Runner. A while ago the speedo, Odo, cruise went off and check engine, BRAKE, VSC OFF, VSC TRAC, ABS lights turned on.
Replaced the VSC/ABS module and the speedo, ODO and cruise all started working so I think the module is good.
After that I had a P1135 code and check engine was still on. I replaced the fuel airflow sensor, reset the codes with my ODB reader and the check engine light went off.
Now when I check I have no codes, 100% clear, but the BRAKE, VSC OFF, VSC TRAC, ABS lights are all still on.
Is there a trick to getting these lights to turn off? Already tried pulling the battery and resetting the computer fuses.

You can jumper the diagnostic port and read the ABS light flashes to pull the ABS code. This video walks you through the steps. The one thing it leaves out is that you may have more than one code, so wait until the first code repeats to make sure you get them all.

Tried doing a zero point calibration but it did not get rid of the lights.
The ABS error code came back as 33 which I believe is the rear right speed sensor. If the sensor was bad wouldn't that kick out a CEL?

Nope. ABS issues only trigger the ABS light, and no CEL. The ABS codes are generally much more specific than a standard CEL, so a 33 means that there is a problem with the right rear speed sensor.
The relevant section of the the manual for a 2000 4Runner is attached.

Great, thanks for the attachment! I may try cleaning the sensor first and see how that goes and then replace it if it doesn't work.

I'm in a similar boat with my 99 Limited. Kinda surprised that the sensor replacement was $300+...

It's integrated with the brake master cylinder which is mounted on the brake booster.

Hi - I just swapped out my VSC/ABS module and the alarm still trips, lights are still on and my brakes still require me to stand on them to stop. I bought 2 used modules on ebay and this second one still doesn't work. Am I missing a step in swapping out the module? Battery disconnect after swapping? etc...
