Check the 7.5 sta fuse. Battery and terminals good. Then it could be the starter contacts or starter relay.

Fuse and battery/terminals good. Just gonna find a cheap starter and replace to get back home then rebuild oem one I suppose.

Update for future readers….. Make sure your shifter is not stuck in between gears and is fully in park…..

Jesus, that was embarrassing. At least that’s all it was though.

Glad you got it fixed.. You are correct it will only start in Park and natural. Mostly they will not let you take the key out when not in park.

Look at the bright side, you don't rebuild your starter at this time. :-)

Sometimes it's the little things that get over looked. I had a customer vehicle last month that wouldn't start because she had a hairtie around the shifter release button. Had it towed from an independent shop that couldn't figure it out.

Yeah! That’s another reason why I was so confused — how did the key come out if it wasn’t fully in park? Thanks though man.

Oh man! Did anyone let the other shop know? That would be a forehead slap for me.

Not that I’m aware of, but if I was the customer I would have let the other shop know lol
