Transfer case and manual transmission drain/fill washers

I picked up all the washers to replace the fluid in my diffs, transmission, and transfer case at the dealer yesterday. Problem is he put all of them in one bag so I'm not sure what goes where. I know the diffs use the actual crush washers that have a flat side and a rounded side, and the front diff uses a copper washer. If I separate those out, I just have flat aluminum washers. Do the manual transmission and transfer case both use the same flat aluminum washers?

I believe they do use aluminum on the manual trans like most Japanese manual trans, but I don't have a manual trans 4R, the tcase uses flat aluminum washers, and if they gave you 4 of them then so does the manual trans, you'll know when you pull the fill plug on the trans, they don't come off the drain/fill plug easy, I reuse them and crush washers until they start showing obvious deformation/scoring. For the crush washers on the rear diff the flat side faces the drain plug.

Yes, the transfer case and manual transmission both use the same flat aluminum washers.

The copper washer is for the drain plug on the front diff.

The crush washers are for the fill plug on the front diff and for both the fill and drain plugs on the rear diff. The rounded side that crushes faces the diff and the flat side faces the plugs.

I use the aluminum washers on everything. I take my waste oil to my friends motorcycle shop and he usually gives me an oil filter for my 9. One time I asked for the washers.

I myself perfer the copper washers and next the aluminum crush washers. The single use crush in my opinion are a waste. Just like that single use one on the front diff and the oil plug washer.

The only one I change are the oil plug crush washers. I have actually in the past had them last for like 10 to 15 years without changing and no seeps.

Being that the oil plugs are the same for all Toyotas. [ as far as I am aware of ] I just buy a 10 or 20 pack of them and change them every oil change as they they are fairly cheap.

I really just should find the correct copper size washer for the oil drain plugs and just reuse them. That way it's less waste.

Just my opinion on the crush washers in general nothing more.

^for the oil drain you could just by the larger OEM D3 taco filter(fits 5L of oil perfectly) or the 5vz-Fe filter and they give you the felt covered aluminum drain washer with the filter, I have stacks of them as I usually reuse them 2-3 oil changes and have a fleet of Yota's, never a seep.

Thanks for the responses guys. That clarifies things. I was a little confused as I thought he gave me 2 flat aluminum washers for the oil drain plugs on my 4runner and my Corolla. Turns out the oil drain washers were in the boxes with each filter and were the "felted" kind.

I use the D3's and I dont get a washer with them. Is a dealer just throwing them in ? I usually buy a few at a time from what ever dealer Im ordering parts form, often McGeorge.

I Guess it might be my Dealer? Past 15 years they always throw the oil drain washer in the filter box and they've changed ownership and parts people over that time frame. Even for the 2016 highlander with filter cartridge they throw in the the drain washer, so maybe a hit or miss?, I thought it was common practice for them to do so?
