parking light identification
so my new to me 4runner, the parking lights dont fit well at all on either side. The driver side is the worst and has a gap between it and the fender near the back of the light and it wiggles in the opening.
The driver side headlight is a TYC and the pass side is toyota. they both have themanufature names on them. Neither of the parking lights have any identification on them like other lights do, so was wondering if at some point someone replaced with crappy aftermarket. Or wondering if originally if they had any names on them, have not pulled to look at back side. So trying to identify and possibally get some new ones down the road that fit better. They do have the screws up top and feel lconnected down low on the headlight.
The truck did have a minor fender bender in its life, where the drivers fender, front bumper and headlight were replaced. Looks like the fender is aftermarket it has no stickers or engraved identification. Oddly enough that fender is only real rust on car. The hood was not damged or replaced, radiator core support looks straight. I see no damage to anything underneath. The inner fender looks straight and no repairs. All body panel seams look correct, ( doors & hood) nothing looks out of alighnment other than the crappy fitting side lights.
also oddly enough all the glass on drivers side says toyota, none on the pass side do, and the one all the way back does have the antenna grid in it. All the doors have the stickers that agree with car.
thanks

My marker lights are OEM; they say Toyota at the bottom of the lens. Chances are yours were replaced after the accident.

Yes mine also say Toyota Koito Japan, there is a metal post on the back side of the front marker lights, it should engage a hole in the body that has a rubber grommet that should hold it in place firmly and the little screw on top ofcourse.

I’ve used an aftermarket fender on a corolla once. They come in some sort of primer coat to keep it from rusting in the store. Likely they didn’t deal with rust proofing the inside of yours when they put it on. This’ll cause it to rust from the inside out. Plus they are inferior metal compared to the original.
I’d use 3m wax based rust proofing if I ever had to replace one again.

If they aren't OEM and are looking for OEM made ones, I would maybe hit a junkyard and see if they have any salvaged 4Runners that would have the front lights intact.

does not have to be OEM, just fit good. IM not good at posting pictures, but I bet I can get thin pen between the back of lense and the fender. the tabs just barely barely catch. and if I hit rough roads, will bump out. I did mention im pretty sure it is an aftermarket fender , so that could be part of the issue too.
might try some thin vacum line, slit it and slide it over the lamp at back end and see how that looks/holds
