I wish Toyota had carried the double power outlet option over to the 4th Gen. I also wish the auto front passenger window switch had made its way over as well.

I do like the big storage compartment in the back, but mine is either broken or was formed improperly from the factory, because the left latch doesn't hold the cover in place flush with the rest of the cargo area.

What about the double level console armrest? Was that new in 99?

Yep,it's a Belkin amp/charger combo for my iPod which I can't find anymore since mine has seen some abuse but still works fine.

I did forget to take a pic of the (added in '99) middle console compartment on top of the armrest and there's also the digital odometer and two tripometers.

I added my aux in for my old school alpine right there ..... that way i can plug my cheap ebay "mp3" player in, or the girl can plug her Ipod in. or i can pull sound off the laptop if we are watching a movie. Not as cool as a screen or a car PC, but it was a good $20 upgrade.

Dude, excellent question. I have no idea what will even fit in that area. Cigarettes will fit above them if you wedge them in a little Tic Tacs fit too, to the left of the outlets, and that's about it, at least what I have tested. I feel like that area could have been a little better designed

yea, it almost irritates me that i cant find anything to do with that space. it would have been pretty cool to have another outlet maybe there and just have outlets all the way across. what about the space where the center console is at? the space thats behind the parking brake. i had one of those tiny bottles of alcohol from an airplane there, i never touched it cause i forgot it was there. haha

The space to the left is great for stuffing the excess wire from my XM plug n' play in there, before that it was useless. The little cubby next to the e-brake holds my work id, hospital id, random business cards, and a pack of gum. It took me a while to notice the headrest holders. Another good storage area is under the rear passenger seat with the jack and tools. There is room for extra tools in there
