Need info on T4R door mirrors

Hi all,

Well, today I had a close call with a distracted driver. He was tailgating me on the road to my place of employment. When I approached the parking lot entrance, I slowed and put my blinker on, he swerved to the right narrowly avoided rear ending me. Unfortunately, as he went by me our mirrors made contact and his took out a chunk of mine. A least he did not break the glass.

So, I’m looking around for a mirror. Can be new or used, doesn’t matter in the grand scheme. My question is, are all the T4R electric mirrors heated? When I look on the internet, most sites just say electric.

Thanks for any help!
Scott

I think only the Limited Nov 98-2000 mirror will be the heated and the correct shape(could be sr5's as well not sure about that one). I hope you tracked him down and came to an agreement cost for replacement, or you pulled his mirror off and called it even..

I think heated was standard on all models after 2000-2002. It also came on the 1998-1999 limited.

It makes sense the 98 LTD would have the same heated option, I know the Nov 98(99' model) was heated so he is "limited" to 98-2000 LTD as the 2001-02 side views changed shape and won't match, still unsure about sr5's?., mind you I'm use to Canadian model 4R's which have minor variations to the USDM options and final sale choice. Would be nice if the OP can find a colour matching sideview close by.
I wanna hear the outcome of the convo as I wouldn't let that slide and happily show up late for work, but then again we don't have the right to carry in Canada lol.
Edit: I didn't even know this heated miror was a thing on 3rd gens until 3 years ago there is a discussion on t4r somewhere if you dig, no stickers or anything telling you they existed, weird for 1999? but nice option up here.

'96-99 mirrors are different in shape from '00-02. So you want the '96-99 mirrors, unless you want to upgrade to the newer style.

I found heated mirrors on the earlier models to be very rare (at least here in So CA). They were much more common on '99+ models. But since I wanted heated mirrors for my '97, and wanted to retain the older shape, I was limited to a single year, which was '99. They are hard to find, but you can try LKQ online. That's how I got heated mirrors in the correct color at a reasonable price.

Yes I do. I have a few testers out there to confirm the latest versions of the LED mirrors for the 4th gen 4Runners. Once fitment is confirmed, you’re going to see these everywhere.
