Ultragauge and Transmission Temps
Any way to monitor transmission temperatures with the ultragauge?
Posted is a picture of the settings for a 1st Gen Tacoma but ECU differences must be why I can't monitor it -

The code you entered is correct. The transmission temp can only be read through OBD2 on model years 99+. What is your model year?

Doin 69 with a hot tranny?
Sorry to barge in here, but thanks to the above info I finally got my UG displaying one of the most important functions I originally got it for. I could have been more creative in hindsight, but those were the first two 3-character strings that popped into my mind when naming the function. Now I need to find the healthy range (?) and see what it does climbing the local mud/snow trail in 4L

I don't remember where I came across the info, but 210-220*F trans temp is what I consider to be the caution area and will either turn OD off if travelling at highway speeds or shift the transfer case to low range if offroading.

Is there an idiots guide walkthrough on where to enter that info? I also originally bought mine to monitor trans temp but have instead spent my free moments doing other electrical stuff

Navigate to the page below on the device and you will see how you can set the parameters. It's a bit tedious but you'll get the hang of it quickly. It helps to have the info shared above printed and with you. I did it while waiting for my son's dentist appointment. I Googled Ultragauge Mgauge Programming or something on my phone.
Menu > Gauge/Page Menu... > Select Gauge/Page > M Gauge Setup.
Select an unused MGauge page (I used 1) and start pushing buttons to edit fields.
Voila!

Thanks, that worked! In other news, I have decided to recommend programming an ultragauge to the dept of defense as a highly effective, non-lethal form of torture

You can turn the ultraguage on with the key on engine off by pressing or holding the top button on the back. Just an FYI since it took me a year to figure that out on my own lol

Now I have lots of questions before I order.
2000 Sr5 Sport Auto. I will definitely be monitoring Trans temps. Thanks for the info on that. But Which model did you get?
-UltraGauge MX v1.4
Please note that the MX v1.4 does not contain the added features found on the UltraGauge EM Plus THIS MAKES ME QUESTION.
or
-UltraGauge EM Plus v1.4
I think The EM Plus sounds more user friendly. I have read the literature, but still not totally sure. When in doubt copy someone else I guess.
