Body Parts - Where To Obtain

My son’s 98 Limited got tagged in a parking lot the other day. Looks like I need a bumper cover, and maybe a right front fender. I was looking at carparts.com... the have a bumper cover with the valence for about $260.00 shipped. Any tips or suggestions on who to purchase parts from?

carparts is the place I know of for body panels. I know a few people that have gotten panels through carparts for various vehicles and didn't have any problems, but haven't myself. I was also eyeing a fender there at one point, was like $50 or something

I've had some success with car-part.com. Was able to source a fender and fender flare for $90 just south of Fredericksburg. Picked up, not shipped but they did offer to deliver to me for another $10.

I'm down in RVA, Chesterfield Auto Parts typically has some 3rd gens in the yard every month—I'd be happy to keep an eye out for ya. What color is your runner?

I've had a lot of luck using OfferUp in my area. So far I've managed to get matching white fenders (the previous owner installed unpainted panels), an OEM front bumper with valance, OEM rear bumper, and OEM lights. Part outs could be useful too.

Car-part.com is the auto wrecker one stop shop. Just bought a door from them. They’ll ship from other wreckers around the region for free so don’t fret if there isn’t the part you want nearby.

you have to kind of watch and see because it seems like they only pop up from time to time.

It's a bit of a haul from the Ville, but NVAR in Lorton has 99 SR5 in the yard that looks like it hasn't been touched much yet ...

Have you actually done that? It's just individual junkyards. Most of them won't even deliver unless it's to a commercial address in my experience. Free shipping on a fender from a small junkyard sounds like a dream.

Yes I did it for my Door. I was totally over-thinking it as well. When I called them though it wasn't a big deal at all. They are constantly shipping parts back and forth.
