A lot of people on here prefer oem toyota parts over aftermarket.

Method has discount codes for their rims a lot of times, I think this code will get you 20% off right now STORMJEEPJL2020..

Thanks for the coupon code! I used it and got about 200 dollars off.

New lift: 3” Bilstein 5100

Rear Coils: OME 890
Rear Shocks: Long Travel (1" Extra Travel)

I was going to go for the Toytec lift but I figured I would just roll with the Bilsteins until I can afford some King Shocks anyways.

I know there are a few things I’m missing. I forgot to order end links from SRQ but I do want to know your opinion on the difference of those vs OEM size end links. Something about 2nd gen end links right? Also going to wait to inspect the rear control arm bushings to order them. Honestly I will probably need them. Really excited to get all of my goodies! Especially the new wheels!

Oh and of course the lug nuts on the method website were back ordered. Do you recommend a certain brand of lug nuts? Or which ones to avoid? Thanks again.
Going to handle like a whole new truck after all that! Looks good. I went with some cheapo Amazon splined lug nuts, not the best but they get the job done. You might need wheel spacers to clear the UCA with that tire size, I could be wrong though. I went with 1” bora spacers, spidertrax are good as well. If you go bora I wouldn’t go less than 1” or else you might have to cut your lug studs which you don’t want to do.

I would recommend getting ET (extra thread) lugs. I use to work at a tire shop and sold A LOT of aftermarket wheels to toyotas. They almost always needed them to get a safe amount of turns on alloy wheels. Just my two cents.

1.5” or 2” suspension lift and a 1” body lift is the sweet spot to run bigger tires. The 3” suspension lift is to much IMO. doesn’t leave you with any up travel.

You know it’s a really nice wheel when it has plastic protectors on the top and bottom plus mesh and styrofoam. Most likely going to be getting them mounted tomorrow or next week. Also got my whiteline bushings today. Just by the packaging I can tell you that this is supreme quality! I opened up the lower control arm bushings and it is the nicest bushings I have ever seen. Just the plastic bags is above and beyond! Another piece of the puzzle....

An update for the 4Runner:
Received my OEM LBJs, white line bushings, adjustable mstudt endlinks, JBA control arms, new cv axles, and outer tie rods. Still waiting for my lift kit from SRQ... should be here by Thursday. I already put on the new wheels and tires because... well why not! They look awesome! Truck bed coated my bumpers, flares, grill, license plate shroud thing, and spoiler. I think it looks pretty good!

Sorry for the messy toolbox...

i used these as well for the lowers. take heed of timmy's warning concerning bending the LCAs trying to press out those intransigent old bushings with a bottle jack. this just happened to me on one side, and we barely fit the thing back in, plus the bushing is a little squished. also despite their apparent quality, they sure don't supply much of that dark-gray lubricant.

unless you *know* your cam adjusters and sleeves aren't rusted in, pick up a full set ahead of time and if you don't need them, great, take 'em back. one of my sleeves was fused in, just would not yield to the kind of force that preserves the part, so we had to make a choice on using a BFH and a steel rod to punch it out, knowing it would be damaged beyond use. we scrapped together an aftermarket one in a hurry to avoid failing to finish the job, since the nearest dealer is 45 mins away.

cute dog btw.

My trick to avoid bending the LCAs was to wrap a ratchet strap around it and tighten it as tight as possible before using the bottle jack. I bent one the first time I tried and the way I fixed it was I used my 3 ton jack and jacked the control arm up against my frame till the distance matched the other control arm lol.

Edit: careful when you do it cause if they are stuck like mine were they will shoot out with a ton of force

man, we should have done this. i even had ratchet straps around for holding up the PS rack when we changed out its bushings. and yeah we had a laugh when one of the bushings shot across the room.

Need your opinion on these spring compressors... the black one is a Matco universal that I bought from a friend years ago just never needed it until now. And the grey one is just a random one in my stash of tools that I forget where I got. Anyways I am thinking about just bending the “claw” with a hammer and a vise so it bites better. I think I’m going to try it on the grey one first. Also going to use vise grips to make sure they stay on the spring. Any advice would be helpful since I haven’t compressed a spring in a couple years and most of the ones I did do was on a stand. Also the Matco ones I have two different sizes.

I wouldn't. They're probably for McPherson struts, which have smaller diameter
springs. I broke one of those tools; they're not designed for coil-overs. They're
at the extreme of their capacity.

I think I might try it on the OEM I will take off first. I had a coworker that got his hand stuck in a spring before right in front of me! It was crazy! He is freaking out and I am trying to get the tool back on and then hit it with my impact. I got some PTSD from it.
