02 parts worth upgrading to for a 2000

I have a 2000 limited that I am about to start working on and building up. As luck would have it, my brother in law recently blew the motor on his 2002 4Runner limited. He’s ready to move on, but told me if there’s anything I wanted off of his for mine to have at it. Is there any major upgrades or improvements on an 02 that are worth taking? Mechanically my 2000 is solid other than maintenance parts that are needed. I see people talk about the tail lights a lot, his has heater front seats and I don’t. Anything else worth scrounging?

If you need nothing, there's nothing worth messing with between the years. You actually have the more desirable of the two.

It's actually the other way around, 99-00 has the desirable parts. Lots of things became integrated or went electronic in 01 and became very expensive as a result. Look at the TB/IAC for example.

Tail lights and harnesses
Sun visors may have homelink or slide outs
The weird looking 01-02 front grille if that’s your speed
Rear seat backs have the toddler seat tie downs integrated

All I can think of off the top of my head!

I would grab the headlights, corners and tail lights for spares. I would grab the throttlebody and the master brake cylinder, you can sell them on ebay for a few bucks. You might also want to pull the antenna for a spare as well, and maybe one of the wheels to use as a spare. You can sell the center console. If you have time pull the front and rear diff for spares, as well as the cv axles. you should be able to fit all that in a couple of black and yellow crates from costco.

Instead of raiding the truck for a few trinkets, what about making an offer for the whole shebang and find a replacement motor. Could be a nice payday.

the heated seats could be nice, the later tail lights with harness, if the headlights and corners are still toyota get those.
otherwise, not much in my opinion
