TBU Upgrade Problem with Rotor Diameter

Need some help here! I'm in the middle of a TBU on my 2001 SR5 that originally came with standard 15" steelies and calipers stamped S12WE. Everything I've read seemed to indicate that the Tundra rotors are thicker, but the same diameter. Not in my case!

I popped the new rotor on and immediately noticed them dragging against the dust shield. On closer inspection the Tundra rotors are much bigger (317mm vs 297mm). I dedicated the weekend to this job. Now I'm dead in the water. The new S13WE calipers will bolt onto the spindle, and they clear the rotor. The only problem I'm seeing is the interference with the dust shield.

Do I have to order new dust shields to fit these Tundra rotors? Do I need to press the hubs out to get new dust shields on?

Feeling F'd right now. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

You have to trim the dust shield. Not a major issue. BigFishAllDay did a fantastic write-up with pictures that covers this (about 1/2 way down page 1) here: Hard to find Specs, Info & Measurements on 231mm 13WL Tundra Calipers & Rotors

Cutting the shield will be your easiest way of fixing your issue. If you have a welder you could buy new shields, cut em and spot weld em back together. Gotta press the bearing to remove the shield

Cutting the dust shield is required no matter what size rims you have. Either get some tin snips, heavy duty shears or an angle grinder and cut/bzzz'd it off so it clears.
