B&M SuperCooler 70264 out of stock. What about the 70268?
Disclaimer - I didn't do an exhaustive search, but even Summit's site says the 70264 that everyone seems to use will ship again in August and Bezos doesn't have any either. Any issues with running the thinner and somewhat cheaper 70268? I had planned on the 64, but I feel like I should do something before the summer season gets fully underway. I have quite a few trips planned and the tranny can run pretty hot under stress. The main difference seems to be 13,000 BTU vs 14,400 BTU and the thickness. I think I'm answering my own question here the more I think about it....

TIA.

I'm running a Tru-Cool LDP4454 13,000 BTU and my temps are always good even when towing my 3200 lb trailer.

I mean I bought and installed the 70268 because that is what I was advised by my friend who worked at 4WP at the time. I don't know if there is any advantage of having the 68 over the 64, or vice versa, but what I can tell you is that I've had amazing results with my 68. I wish I had a way to read my trans temps before installing the cooler, but I didn't. I do now, and with the cooler installed my ATF temps run from 150-170 with regular driving. Highway speeds and inclines cause temps to fluctuate differently but nothing terribly high. On extreme hot days and hard driving/4WD, I've seen temps to 200 but not much higher than that.

Cool - thanks. Gonna get on this.
I got it up 249 degrees climbing in the desert recently. Not gonna let that happen again.

will you be running it in line with the stock atf cooler? if yes, then the 70268 should be ok. if you're bypassing the stock atf cooler, i would get the bigger cooler. i think at the back of the box of the B&M cooler, there is a chart on the recommended sizing of the atf cooler.

Try Jegs, or even EBay. Have been using it for 12 years, only seen temps above 200f twice. Mount as close to the condenser as possible for efficient cooling.

Not sure if you or anyone on this would be interested, but I picked up a 70264 a few years ago with the intent of installing it and never did. Out of the box but the bag with all the hardware is still sealed. Willing to sell to anyone that would actually use it.

If you were local, I would def consider it, but shipping from VA etc seems like trouble.
Looking at the Tru-Cool now and have gone down a trick hose, clamp and fitting rabbit hole......damn it.

Ha ha, no worries. I sell stuff on eBay some and the shipping isn't a big deal, probably $10-15 flat rate from USPS priority, so no hassle for me to ship it if that's your concern.

Are you running the cooler in line with radiator or bypassing?

The TruCool I have is the 4589. It’s the low pressure drop model.

That LPD4589 looks pretty nice. Did you use the hose that came with the kit for the '11/32 hose barb'? Does that fit our hard lines?
I recently put in a new radiator, so I'm OK with series or bypass - what would you recommend?
