Body Lift Question

I have two 4Runners, a 1999 and a 2000. I went ahead and ordered a 1.5in body lift for my 1999 at the same time as I ordered parts for my 2000 and accidentally ordered a body lift for a 2000.

Seller says I need 4 extra bolts in order to be able to install the kit intended for a 2000 onto my 1999. Is there really a difference; isn’t 1996 the only one setup different cause it has two less body mounts?

Has anyone else done this or am I just asking a dumb question?

Not a dumb question.

Seller is correct, the position #2 body mounts are slightly different between 1999 and 2000.

I know this because I’m in the middle of a frame swap. My truck is a 2000 and the donor frame is a 1999. I originally bought body mount bushings for a 2000, but ended up needing the bushings kit for a 1999 to make it work.

Very interesting, I would never guess there would be such an utterly minor difference on a very integral part even between the sub-generations. Very odd since typically that's the definition of inefficient manufacturing but perhaps there was a reason we're not privy to.
