OEM CV Axle availability/source?
Hi
I can't seem to find Toyota OEM re-manufactured CV axles (43430-35030-84)! I know I could have mine re-booted, but was really hoping to replace.
I tried to order from McGeorge Toyota (my usual go to for parts), but they said they are on "national back order" (although they are still on their website). I contacted TRDshop.com, and they also said back ordered. Amayama says "Permanently out of stock." Partsouq only has new ones at $477 each! I have emailed Camelback, but haven't yet heard back from them yet. Several websites appear to have some available stock, but after the response I'm getting I suspect those websites aren't up to date on actual availability.
Does anyone know anything about Toyota re-manufactured CV axles being on national back order (is that really a thing)? Maybe this is common knowledge and I'm just now finding out?
Does anyone know of a good source for reasonably priced Toyota CV axles?
At this point, I may have to consider aftermarket. I'm not trying to turn this into a debate on aftermarket vs. OEM, but I would appreciate opinions as I think that my be my only option (other than re-booting existing)...
Any thoughts, suggestions, or opinions would be appreciated.

Edit: Funny that 43430-35030-84 is NLA and, 43430-35030 is still available with a $75 core.
The sad thing about our trucks is, it's getting older. And Toyota dealers are stocking parts for the newer models, slowly discontinuing part support for our 20+ year old trucks.
What ever the dealers has sitting on their shelves right now is all there is. Unless even those have been recall by Toyota corporate for destruction.
I used to know a guy that does the cutting and hammering of discontinued parts per Toyota's direction.
You could get lucky hunting for a rebuilt oem Toyota CV shaft at the autoparts stores.

Yeah nah I'm gonna need to see some hard evidence of this. It makes absolutely zero logistical sense in any way, shape or form for a manufacturer to spend time and money sourcing old parts and shipping them back to separate locations, then paying someone to dismantle these parts AND THEN pay to deal with all this newfound scrap purely for the hell of it - instead of merely letting them sell off and earn profit while ceasing new production. If the implications is this is done in the name of saving money by scrapping old production, then its a pretty ass backwards way of doing so.

Ya I know! It really doesn't make sense! I don't expect you to trust what I say cause it's so off the wall. And I have no hard evidence as it is a secured part of the building. All I have seen is the aftermath in the dumpsters. No one but authorized personnel is allowed in that area.
I only have what that trusted friend says that he destroyed monthly which make him sick cause of the waste.
Rims, interior parts, lots of wiring, engine parts, etc. The destroyed parts is already covered by some sort of insurance or fund and MUST be destroyed in order to collect.

Been in the auto repair industry for 35 years. After a while manufacturers discontinue parts and either just slowly sell off the stock, sell it to a person or company who specializes in obsolete parts and sell them at a hefty mark up, or literally just throw them in the dumpster. There quite possibly might not be anymore Toyota new or reman axles. Good luck finding boots, just tried to get some from NAPA, one came in a couple of days and the second never showed up, not available. The one I did put on failed in two weeks because it sat on a shelf for so long. I've had good luck with NAPA remans. They also offer an upgraded new cv axle for lifted rigs.

Can't decide between CVJ and NAPA for CV axles (OEM axles from dealers or other sources appear to be back-ordered)
CVJ 9168 T (no lift) re-manufactured seems to be a great option, but they are $ 219 each plus $45 shipping, plus $95 core charge (and return shipping for core).
Total (assuming I get the Core charge back, and $45 return shipping) is about $528
NAPA NEW Premium CV shaft (NCV 944013) are $97 each with free shipping plus 10% Father's day discount (these are new and NOT re-manufactured)... Not sure who makes these, but reviews on the forum seem good.
Total (including tax and 10% Father's Day discount) is $ 192.
I'm all for putting good quality parts in, but this ends up being a pretty big price difference.
Any thoughts or suggestions on CVJ vs. NAPA?
