My concern is that if things keep along the current trajectory. All critical components that have to be new my not be available for a while. Thus the purpose of this thread. I wanted other users thoughts on this.

I must have missed that one. Being I am in Western PA. I would need our members from the 2 CA sea ports of I think LA and Long Beach to keep us informed.

Always a way depends on how deep your pockets are how bad you need part, ha.
Have had parts put on commercial flight in Japan picked up at local airport
this out of Corporate pocket not mine.

Just saying. Times like this Necessaty is the mother of invention. Find a way.

The only constant is change. There are too many people working to fix the current issues for them to go on forever. Then there will be new problems... Just how life works.

And the 'dry powder' comment isn't specifically about guns - just a point to have something in reserve to take advantage of whatever situation presents itself - and make sure you can take care of yourself in difficult times. No need to be a prepper or anything, just don't live on the edge.

Now maybe my wife wont have a problem with the 5 I have.. Might be able to pick up a few more for parts if things keep getting worse.. I guess that one bright side to it..

I have backups for my backups but when you use a used wheel cylinder and it only lasts a half a day. Its best to have some new parts from time to time. ;-)

Not to pile on, but...

Maersk Warns South China Port Congestion 'More Significant Disruption' Than Suez Canal Closure
WEDNESDAY, JUN 16, 2021 - 07:20 PM
We previewed last week to readers that port congestion wasn't just observed across US West Coast ports, such as Los Angeles/Long Beach, but also severe congestion was developing in southern China. At the time, we called it a "perfect storm" ahead of the peak shipping season.
Now the world's largest container line, Maersk, calls the port congestion at Yantian International Container Terminal, a deepwater port in Shenzhen, Guangdong, in southern China, a much more significant disruption to its operations than the shutdown of the Suez Canal in March.
Ditlev Blicher, Maersk Asia Pacific Managing Director, was quoted by Seatrade Maritime, who said Yantian port is operating at a 40% capacity, and "We're expecting that to continue for the next month with significant delays for vessels to be able to berth."
A recent surge in COVID-19 infections in the port area and prevention and restriction measures put in place by local authorities is the primary reason for the lack of capacity at the port.
AP Moller-Maersk's CEO of Ocean & Logistics, Vincent Clerc, stated:
"I would say this for us is a much bigger disruption than the Ever Given getting stuck in the Suez Canal for some days because of the duration and the importance of Yantian as a gateway."
Before the outbreak, the average shipping times at Yantian averaged a waiting time of 0.5 days. Now it's 16 days.
"Right now, we have vessel delays of up to 16 days outside Yantian which is of course going to cause significant ripple effect across the network from a reliability perspective," Clerc explained.
This has caused a massive traffic jam of container ships in the region, resulting in an unprecedented supply chain impact and another shipping crisis as delays mount, threatening to drive up costs again.

It's not only ships waiting to get unloaded at port, they're running out of empty shipping containers I read last week.
So thats a whammy on both sides of it.

Only issue I've had so far. Was wanting a Bartlein 7mm 2"B" medium sporter barrel in 8 twist lead time they didn't know, opted for a 8.5 twist in stock.
Oh well still good for anything on this continent, paper 1k+ yds, I'm good.

Not sure if this is relevant, but going past my local Toyota dealer, the lot is practically bare! It almost looks like they’re going out of business. It’s Concord Toyota in Northern California for those following along at home.

I saw the same thing at our local Lexus dealer. Normal amount of used cars, but the new car side was almost 100% empty. Looks bizarre.

Same thing here in WA. The chip shortage on top of every other shortage is really catching up to the dealers. I was there when the last 4Runner sold.

In other news, my Bilstein 5100's are backordered til mid to late August. Ordered through Total Automotive Performance, and a week after my order I was told they'd receive a shipment the next day, and would ship mine out then. After another week of waiting i followed up and was told it would be mid to late August when they'd see the next shipment. So I guess I'll wait the two months since TAP was the cheapest. Or I could cancel and buy through SRQ for a hundred bucks more while they still have them. Bad time for me to finally get along with my build I guess.

Unless it's a Ford or GM and they have no computer chips from China to put in them.
