Supply chain interruptions catching up to us.
I couldn't get a new wheel OEM cylinder for good old Tetanus 1. The parts are currently unavailable.
So it seems a pile of normal parts we commonly use are not available for the present time. The year interruptions depleted inventory. I hoping this trend ends soon. [ I am trying to be optimistic ]

“Catching up to us” is an understatement... We have been aware of, and dealing with it since early January.
International container freight is so backlogged. There is plenty of demand, and a lack of ships. I also had a container come in at port here stateside US, and it took a month for them to release it because they are backlogged as well.
It’s actually need getting progressively worse. Prices keep going up too due to both demand and increase in commodity prices.
Really wild situation.

@ brillo_76
pretty cool vid on the subject here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1JlYZQG3lI
like 50% of all the products come thru long beach or LA
20 foot container used to cost $1,800 they now run for $3,500 and this is causing a regional shortage of shipping containers. it's just amazing how messed up everything is right now. given the fact that for every 100 containers that come into the US only 40 get sent back... so they have a huge shortage of containers... it's all just logistics but once the logistics get sideways... we are screwed.
the bulk ketchup deal was so strange to me, but my god it happened.
we have on this board noticed the car situation, and Toyota did a good job of managing the risk. I have heard they are getting top dollar for new 4runners, more than normal.

I thought we needed a conversation topic. This supply chain issues is basically hitting every sector across the globe. I am well aware of how bad it is.
I just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on it. Luckily, I have 5 3rd gens. So I can pull parts off one or 2 for a while to get through new parts scarcity.
We also have a double whammy going on. We not only have supply chain issues going on. We are experiencing hyperinflation as well.
Interesting times we are currently in. I just hope it improves in the near future.

It most certainly has become a main topic of conversation I can't go throughout my day without having to talk about it with our suppliers and customers.

Good f*cking god, another one of these threads? Seems like every week there's a new thread to serve no other purpose other than b*tching about the times we live in. They're becoming about as frequent as RS3000 threads.
Yes, the world is f*cked up right now. Meanwhile the sky is blue, the grass is green and the sun is bright.
Did you know there's an entire offtopic board dedicated for these threads? No no, really, I promise! I mean, what a crazy idea right?? But believe me it exists - against all odds.

Hey Devbot calm the heck down. I am looking for solutions. Not complaining. If you cant behave. Stay the heck off my threads. I have no time for it. I did like sleepydads video. So your warned to behave on my threads or I will block you. Besides I can delete this thread this thread in a week or month if I wish. You totally missed the point which dosent surprise me at all.

You should make a thread complaining about other threads.
Or maybe a thread discussing some various examples of irony

We are nowhere near hyperinflation... Yes, it is painful and high - but nothing like hyperinflation. This is why you always keep some dry powder around...
I design electronics that are mostly built in China, I'm well aware of all these issues... Oh, and we are in the middle of an addition to our house - dealing with both price increases and delivery issues.

The domino effects of JIT (just in time) manufacturing on a universal scale.
I'd say we'll be dealing with this till this time next year to some extent, being optimistic about it all we can do is ride it out.

The Struggle is Real!
Just when you start to think inventory is starting to catch up, orders get pushed back - ugh!!
The support from the Toyota Community has been amazing - Thank You!!

You dont think so? Perhaps your correct. I like sleepydads video. Explains the bottlenecks. I live in a county that is 3 or 4th highest registered firearms in the United States. We are all very heavily armed and stock piled.

@eimketh was the Canary in coal mine. He had posted in a thread about the shortages of containers quiet a while back. His prediction are spot on.
