891’s paired with what shock??

Have some new 891 from gf’s totaled 4runner so needing to replace my shocks as well along with it. Looking for recommendations. Truck currently has bilstein 5100 coilovers upfront and old 891 coils in the rear with some old procomp shocks atleast 4 years old on rear suspension. The ride is rough….. Thanks for the help!

If you like how the front rides, why not go with 5100's or 5160's in the rear?

I may be wrong but I thought I read the 5160s are good for a 2in lift and to pair with 906s ?? I have not researched all that well. I’m looking at the 5100 and the icon 2.0 but still undecided

If you did it again would you by 5100 or what would get if money wasn’t a factor?

Probably would try the 5100s but im not sure what the best bet is without spending a fortune. I will say i have some weight in the back but not the amount that most who run 891s do.
I have a storage platform and lots of tools and parts as well as a swingout with a spare and all the structure to support that but its built under a factory bumper so compared to a plate bumper and swingout its lightweight

5100's and 5160's are both designed for the 906's. If you run loaded though, the 891's would still work with the 5100/5160 valving and ride height.

If you want to go to a longer shock in the rear (with bump stop extensions, etc.), then that opens up a can of worms.
