A specific spot for using the factory jack, or a floor jack? I’ll have to give it another look, but I still remember it was in the way for my jack stand placement.
Thanks!

You can use either jack. If I can remember correctly it is marked on the shield where the shield sits on the crosmember. May be @sleepydad can look at his and post the pic.

edit: The lifting spot is the oval' shaped cut out for using the stock jack.

I suppose if your jack fits in the oval it could be used? why would anybody risk damaging this spectacular OEM molded plastic cover? come on people!

What is this?

That's the jack stand location, thus the shape. The jacking point is the frame a little in front of that crossmember.

I'm thankful. If I wanted an overly complicated vehicle with modules for everything then I'd have a 5th gen. I enjoy the simplicity.

My 2000 came with one of those plastic guards fully intact. My Shrockworks sliders would have required that I notch the thing to put it back on, so I left it off. Was gonna throw it on the Classifieds for the OCD unicorn-part collectors. Very light weight - should be easy/cheap to ship. What would a fair price be?

Still available through Toyota. $209 retail. $144 internet. I think I saw someone posted a $70 a while back. That ad didn't last long.

The newer ones have nuts welded inside the frame to bolt the skid to. Mine only has holes or no holes at all in some spots. Wouldn't be easy and not worth the effort for me. It's long since pitched. My fuel filter is on the engine so the skid is not really needed there.
