P0172. Too rich. gawd...

Replaced the tps. It ran great. Started it the next day and right back to zero.

It's not too rich. It's too lean. It staggers and bogs at takeoff then kicks in.

I have a o2 sensor here. If it will work (leads long enough, right plug) I will put it in tomorrow.

Waiting on a bluetooth dongle. What app from the playstore works best on these?

Anybody have any suggestions?

this morning...

Started it. The fly by wire was dead. I've had a LOT of trouble with this truck losing contact at the connectors. That one is behind and below the throttle body on the passenger's side. Disconnected it, shot it with CRC contact cleaner then gooed it with Permatex sillyclone grease. Made some progress...

Moved on to the o2 sensor. Same deal with the plug. Made some more progress. It stopped throwing codes at that point. It STILL bogged, right off idle. Replaced o2 sensor. RESET THE COMPUTER. Ran it down the freeway. It MAY be fixed!

Or it may blow up, the next time I start it... KA-BLOOIE! C U Later, papa san Toy rota. I'd take some bets but I'll be damned if I know which side to take...

monday 6-14

started it this afternoon. problem back, big time. i said some baaaad words.

as i began to take the thing apart for the ump-teenth time the rubber thingy that fits onto the throttle body literally fell apart in my hands. i've worked on cars all my life (i'm 71) and i have NEVER seen that part fail!

apparently i'm not the only one - rock auto has a replacement for $27. they also have the lower part but not the plastic "box" in between.

this may well have been part of the problem....
