Here is some 99/00 Highlander info that is somewhat interesting. if it's in decent shape the price is not bad at all, regardless, and probably a steal in AK.

ITS MINE NOW. Maybe its a highlander.....it has all the options listed in the info you posted for a highlander well except fender flares are color matched and not black......and it has a locker . Pick it up tomorrow.
Paid deposit to hold it. would something in the vin tell me if its a highlander ? But it does say SR-5 on the back.
221k, paid 5300. New geolanders, fresh oil change, has a few bugs

The 1999 Highlander had the black fender flares while the 2000 had body color fender flares.
Sounds like you scored a Highlander which is sweet. Has the larger brakes up front as well as a few other nice touches.
There is no specific “Highlander” badging.
Some came equipped with rear locker & manual as well as auto trans.
Congrats as looks like a nice one.

Hells yeah! I don't know you, but I pop in here enough to know the struggles you've had with the last 2 trucks. It's awesome that you seem to have had some good luck and found a great platform to build on! The VIN should tell you if it has the sport package that makes an SR5 a Highlander. I bet the door jamb sticker will tell you it has 4.30 gears, too.

SCORE
its a highlander....info came back as leaving the factory with the SX package and 4:30 gears
when I get it in my fat little hands I will start a thread on it.....im just afraid something will go wrong....like he was a greedy person, and many looking and he had offers, obviously lower than me...I could see him taking a a better offer and refund my deposit....he ships out in 5 days ( military) and he still has it listed for sale and at a new price, the one we agreed on. Ive got a receipt for my deposit.
cant wait to get tomorrow. however it needs some work

wonder if that wheel will fit over a TBU. It does need brakes. Ive got 2 sets of 5 stars, one with near new KO2's on them, I know they will fit, but Im starting to like the look of the black wheels.
but someone said the highlander had bigger front brakes...true ? what was bigger ?

Check VIN stickers on all the body panels around the car and get a good idea of where it was hit. And then focus in on that area to see any signs of poor repairs.

thanks, its already a done deal. driver door and driver fender did not match, all else did match vin. Does have some damage to drivers rocker panel ( kind of fixed), but door closes and seals correct

Perhaps he was referring to the smaller brakes on those that had the 15" wheels and also the 2WD version, that's why he's saying "bigger front brakes".

I bet it's a load of your searches in these slim pickin times.
Glad you finally got a good one that you are comfortable with and one you can finally build on.
