Question about heat shields before putting the body back on the frame...

Hey all,

Before putting the truck back together, about to prep the underbody (cleaning, some wire-wheeling, some sand blasting, more cleaning, then POR-15, paint).

Anybody know the part number for these heat shields? (See attachment)
I've searched online and looked at the diagrams and can't seem to find them.

Or, any suggestions for maybe using something else here that would be an upgrade?

Thanks!!

Something like this is probably your best bet: Peel and Stick Heat Shield - Sticky Shield | Heatshield Products

I have a part number but cannot confirm it is the right one. Doubt any toyota parts counterman will be able to confirm it too, unless he is well experienced and not just a computer parts guy which most are these days.

Im particular to Design Engineering Insulation DEI myself.

Clean underneath compared with what I have to work with.. :-)

I would go with Hilife recommendation and that OEM Insulation is so flimsy on those 2 pieces

Edit: Check out KBS Seal and compare it to POR 15 as KBS is alot newer formula and
"RustSeal is based on about 25 years newer chemistry. POR-15 has 0 UV stabillity, RustSeal in all 10 colors has 90% UV stability. POR-15 always needs a UV stable top coat and RustSeal used somewhere not in direct sunlight, floorpans, chassis, etc has all the UV stabilty it needs and won't need a topcoat"

the part number for the lower one is:
55225-35110 --> Dash Panel Heat Insulator No. 1 for mid-1998 to 2002

the part number for the upper one is:
55223-35040 --> Outer Dash Panel Insulator

EDIT: I think this is the big insulator in front of the firewall

There is another part number related to the lower one:
55225-35080 --> Dash Panel Heat Insulator No. 1 for 1996 to mid-1998

Here's a link to the diagram I was looking at:
FRONT FENDER APRON & DASH PANEL | 4RUNNER VZN185L-GKPZKA RZN18#,VZN18# | Toyota | Genuine Parts Catalogs | PartSouq Auto Parts Around the World

Awesome, thank you. Yes, those look like the right part numbers.

It also looks like these parts are no longer available. So it will be the cut-to-size-then-peel-and-stick solution from me.

Thanks everyone!!
