The slides I’m using are industrial slides that lock in place when not in use. You need to press down the yellow tabs in order to slide the rails out

Hi there! Semi-permanent solar overland setups need specific equipment to run smoothly: solar panels, a charge controller, a battery, an inverter, and a fuse box. If you want a more complicated setup, you can add battery monitors to keep an eye on how effective the system is. It’s best to use lithium batteries. Another point is paying attention to how much power production you will need. You can calculate how much energy your car uses daily, which will tell you how much power your solar panels should supply.
