Question Not shifting into 4th unless I let off the throttle

Recently I've adjusted the kickdown cable (was loose), as far as I my understanding goes this won't affect upshifting, right now at highways speeds 100km+ the transmission won't shift into 4th (3k rpm) unless I let off the throttle for a split second, it will shift eventually but I feel it should not take that long. Any advice?

will affect Trans oil pressure. Adjust the throttle cable per manual, you need to put that small black ball 50% out of the cable, if I remember well.

Edit: went to look, you have a small, round (1-2 millimeter) plastic cylinder on the transmission cable attached to the throttle body. The cable goes out a grommet, and that black cylinder shall be 50% in and 50% out of the grommet (center).

the small black cylinder attached to the wire you see in that picture must be center with the black grommet.

throttle valve cable/transmission kickdown cable stuck

Adjusting that cable only affects shift firmness by changing the line pressure in the transmission. Is the engine and transmission warm when this happens?

Have you tried the ECT power button? That changes the shifting speed to shift quicker. Not an actual solution but curious about the effects.

Yes, this happens after the engine is at operational temps

When running ECT on the city my MPG is way too low, I used to run ECT all the time and the upshifts where indeed quicker

Have you checked your transmission fluid level and condition?
