Inside the frame coat with a really liquidy rust inhibitor solution.
On the under chassis. Keep it covered with rust inhibitor of your choice. Fluid film will wash off. Being in the rust belt. I lean more with a cosmoline based coating. As it stays. Any kind of wax based rust inhibitor does well especially if it dries.
The solution is your choice. Just some wash off and others stay put..
