Price vs. Value
No affiliation, just cruising the local adds and saw this. Is this another new normal?

Prices are wayyyy up right now. Looks like someone who is taking advantage of it and throwing out a high price to see if anyone bites. It does have low miles for a 21 y.o. truck.
Is it 4WD? That would play a major role in the price. Also, what does the interior look like?

Yup as cshack said, just throwing a big no. to kickit off, some folks read alot into a big no. thinking it must be 'worth' it and take the bait. In my area I still see 2wd 2000 runners under 200K that look decent, no rust for $3000, so its not all up in the air yet....

Lots of room for having something shipped in when you get to those kinds of prices. This '00 4WD w/ factory locker is only $8k, 188k miles so Slightly more miles.
2000 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4WD - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle...
But there's an issue with low miles, when vehicles aren't used the functional bits (gaskets, hoses, anything rubber) tend to rot. Low mile vehicles are fine if they're just going to sit on display, but they tend to need More work to get road worthy than a higher mile, but maintained, vehicle.

In general I think 3rd gens are a great price vs. value play, however I do not think this is one of them just from those pictures. It does have low miles but no pics of interior or underbody. rust would be a concern. it looks well cared for but still at those prices it is a lot for a 21 year old vehicle that probably lived in a climate with winter / road salt. does it have complete service records? you can likely find a much newer similar condition 4runner for similar pricing

I think it’s just a “make me move” price.

That's my local. Complete crackhead price with very little description and weak pictures. I agree that it's someone not motivated to sell but may be trying to capitalize on 3rd gen prices and used car prices in general. Looks like a nice Runner though.
That Runner won't sell anywhere near that price. $11k +/- $2k is what I think the market supports.

I don't think the pearl white was even an OEM color on 2000s. I could be wrong but I believe that to be true.

Seeing those 4Runners in such great condition shows me what a killer truck it would be if they still made them just as they were. Still completely relevant today. Would it cost $40k?

And I had thought the prices up here in British Columbia were ridiculous. The most expensive one that I’ve seen recently was $14000 CAD with 180,000 miles for a 1999 (ad didn’t say which trim and there aren’t enough pictures to tell).
