2002 4Runner Door Chrome Strips

I’m looking for help on a 2002 4Runner SR5 – 331,250 miles – Have had it 14 years as my primary vehicle. Wonderful solid truck though a bit of rust underneath!

I’ve attached two pictures below of the door chrome strips. I lost the driver side strip a few months ago as it peeled off as I was driving. I heard it start to go as the wind took it.

Does anyone have any knowledge of whether the chrome is factory, or an add-on? And also where I could get replacement or similar chrome strips?

I did buy 3M adhesive remover - but haven’t used yet to clean up the adhesive. But I’d really like to replace the chrome strips as I plan/hope to run this vehicle a few more years. I do like the chrome look vs. no chrome look.

Thanks,
Jon

Yours is the first I've seen with that chrome on the doors so I'm going to say that's aftermarket. Maybe try looking at Vatozone?

I never seen a chrome strip on a 3rd gen. I agree with bad luck most likely aftermarket.

Not ideal, but other than me and my son - no one will probably notice...

I left both chrome strips on the Passenger side.

I removed the rear driver side door chrome strip as the front driver side door chrome had fallen off already.

I used 3M Adhesive Remover to get the adhesive off. Worked great.
