Has anyone found a good bolt up replacement muffler assembly?

I have tried to find information on a good replacement bolt up muffler assembly, but most every one I have read states that their muffler, pipe or flanges start rusting through and only last 3 years! Even the "stainless steel" ones people say are of a low grade and they immediately start rusting. Is there anything out there other than oem that can last 6 or more years? Thanks!

I’ve had my Napa about that long. Muffler and tail pipe. Both were aluminized.

I have a Walker from rockauto but I can’t speak to its longevity since I’ve only had it installed in 2019.

But you can take your new exhaust pieces to a powder coater before the installation

From my experience, exhaust components usually corrode from the inside-out.
I also replaced my OE muffler with Walker Stainless Muffler #55054 in August 2019.

I’ve got the Walker Stainless muffler and standard tail pipe. It’s not looking good in the longevity department. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially considering the price. Wasn’t cheap in Canada.

I think the salt belt would destroy it in a few years. Would only consider it if desperate or looking to sell

I tried walker junk in 4 to 5 years. I went to the ebay northern stainless muffler and tail pipe so far a few years on it. Not rusting up too fast. The links are in my build page which is in my signature. With some photos of one as well.

Not sure about a bolt-on muffler-only (no welding), but my Magnaflow stainless muffler is still shiny and rust-free - the rest of the tubing in the Overland cat-back kit) uses a diff grade of 'stainless' and isn't rusting per se, but has surface discoloration/reaction/oxydation of some kind - which I don't give a damn about. Glad I copped one on the group buy last year.

Thanks for the replies! I'm between a Napa Soundmaster and a Northest SS Resonator. If Napa won't drop their price to be more competitive, I'm going with the Resonator.

NAPA Soundmaster is Walker's cheaper line, the muffler is aluminized. Their more expensive NAPA muffler is a Walker Quiet-Flow. The muffler is stainless but piping, flangers, hangers aren't.

My Quiet-Flow's flange at the outlet rotted out after about 6 years, the muffler is still intact and I'm still running but minus the tailpipe.

Bosal is decent for the price but I don't know if they have them for the 3rd gen. They do like to rust quick though.

I just found the images of my napa. I bought it in 2015.

I’ll try and take a picture of what it looks like now. I’m more than happy with it.

S Jax Beach area not as bad a area as most of replies you've received only worry is salt laden air.
SS muffler best choice in your area for muffler, as for piping most are galvanized fail points are at the welds
of flanges and hangers both raw steel, welding burns off pipe coating.
Find you a can of cold galvanize spray, clean the welds and raw steel with brake clean n wire brush spray welds before install.
I've had the Walker Quiet Flow manifold back system since 3-17 this what I did have no rust period, SS muffler just changing colors.

I recently went with a Northeastern SS cat-back recommended by T4R2014 for my 2002 Sport Edition. Set me back $224 on eBay, and was actually cheaper than a similar aluminized system from RockAuto.

While I can't comment on its longevity just yet, I am very happy with the build quality.

It came with gaskets, but oddly enough no bolts even though there are weld nuts that are threaded. Quick stop at the hardware store solved that. Everything bolted in just fine with no headache. I would recommend.

Looks pretty neat but the real question is how does it sound?
